Oopbuy Spreadsheet Savings: A Coupon Checklist
A coupon deserves the same discipline as the rest of your Oopbuy spreadsheet. Record where it came from, any minimum threshold, its expiry, which items it applies to and its redemption limits. Then confirm the final total at checkout, because a code that looks useful can quietly fail on eligible items.
Fields to record for every coupon
| Field | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Source | Tells you whether it is a real, current offer |
| Threshold | Minimum spend required to use it |
| Expiry | Whether it is still valid today |
| Eligible items | Excludes or includes certain categories |
| Limits | One per order, new customers only, and similar rules |
| Date checked | Flags a code you have not re-verified |
Verification steps before checkout
- Find the offer on the platform's official channel.
- Read the full terms, including thresholds and exclusions.
- Add eligible items so the threshold is actually met.
- Apply the code and check the order summary.
- Compare the final total to your estimate before confirming.
- Only use codes from a real, current source.
- Note the threshold and expiry in your sheet.
- Check that your items are eligible.
- Confirm the discount appears in the total.
- Ignore any code you cannot verify.
If you cannot verify an active offer, treat it as unavailable and move on. Do not rely on codes, savings or expiry dates you have not confirmed on the platform itself.
Once you have a claim to check, compare offers properly in comparing savings before checkout, and fold the result into estimating total cost.
Quick answers
Should I trust a code from a random post?
Only if you can verify it on the platform's official channel. Otherwise treat it as unavailable.
What is a threshold?
The minimum spend required before a coupon applies. It is worth checking before you add items.
Why did my discount not appear?
Either an item was excluded or the threshold was not met. Check both in the order summary.
